Flood
Warnings for Old Windsor
The Flood
Warden for Old Windsor is Cllr.R.Green
As of
the start of 2008 the Environment Agency introduced new flood
warning boards. We will have these boards on display at the notice
boards in St Lukes Road by the old toilet block, outside Budget
Stores on the Straight Road, outside the Parish Meeting Room in
Church Road and outside Kings Court School in Ashbrook Road. I urge you to read the boards carefully as a
Red coloured board does not necessarily
mean you are at serious risk as there are three different flood states
covered by Red boards. A
Blue board means All Clear. There are
no longer any Green boards. The new
warning codes are:-

For the
very latest Flood information, please phone the FloodLine on 0845
988 1188 then press 1 to hear about the flood warnings in
force. Enter the quickdial number 173108 for information
specific to Old Windsor. There is also a website and the page
specific to flood warnings is
here. When you get to this page use the search box in the
middle, select Town
and enter Old Windsor if there are any warnings showing for the
Thames Area. Unfortunately the Environment Agency has a habit of
changing all their links and making some information hard to find so
we are constantly checking this link to make sure it is correct but
we do get caught out on occasions so apologies if it is not working
when you check. They also have a habit of providing misleading
information by providing different answers. If you go to their site
and they provide you with a choice of answers then take the worst
case one as being correct. I have complained several times so feel
free if you feel the same way.
The Royal Borough has its own page regarding flooding which has a
lot of useful information and that can be found
here.
This
site will also be updated regularly during the winter months or at any
time when flooding is likely to happen. In the unfortunate event of
any serious flooding then the Royal Borough of Windsor and
Maidenhead has a Flood Plan in place to
help residents.
