Neighbourhood Watch Old Windsor
There are three
main aims of Neighbourhood Watch:-
1) To
receive information from the police on local crimes and what is
happening in our area
2) To
feed back information to the police on what we see happening around
us- anything unusual
3) Building
and encouraging community spirit
How do we get
information from the police?
Mainly by Ringmaster
messaging sent to your computer or by post or telephone. This not
only tells what is happening locally but often offers advice on how
to protect our property and ourselves. It also gives the numbers of
cars the police particularly want to trace or sometimes descriptions
of people the police would like to “meet”.
What do we do with
this information?
If it’s relevant to our
neighbourhood we pass it on to neighbours with the advice about
self help and protection of property.
How do we feed
information to the Police?
Most often it will be
done by ringing 101 or 0845 8 505 505 or passing it to the Neighbourhood
Watch Administrator
How do we
encourage “community spirit”?
This is something that
we all probably do already although Neighbourhood Watch goes just a
little bit further. Co-ordinators tend to get to know all the
residents in their street through passing on information and advice.
At
present in Old Windsor there are 36 co-ordinators covering 27 roads,
this leaves 22 roads not covered.
If
you would like more information or would like to join us as a
co-ordinator for you road please contact me.
