OWPC response to Alternatives to River Thames Scheme

We received a letter from RBWM and the EA asking for alternatives to the River Thames Scheme.  We now know that the River Thames Scheme Channel that was proposed for within Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, is not going ahead following the decision by the Sponsorship Group to not include it, as the Borough was not able to commit to its contribution at this time. This was the relief channel, similar to the Jubilee River, that was going to come out of the Thames at Datchet and go back in by Bell Weir at Staines. This was designed after the 2014 floods to try and prevent a repeat of the flooding in this area and across the river in Datchet and Wraysbury. Our response is in the link below.
